A North Richmond man led sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit Wednesday night during which he hopped out of a vehicle and fled on foot with a gun in his hand before being arrested, according to the Contra Costa Times, citing a sheriff’s spokesperson.

Gerald Robinson, 41, failed to stop his car when a deputy attempted to pull it over about 8:51 p.m.. at Chesley Avenue and Rumrill Boulevard, spokesman Jimmy Lee told the Times.

After leading a pursuit for about a mile, Robinson fled the vehicle on foot, but deputies set up a perimeter and arrested him in a backyard.
