27-year-old Richmond woman survives being stabbed in chest in San Francisco

A Richmond woman was stabbed in the chest during an altercation in San Francisco’s Mission District on Friday, according to police and news reports.

Police say the 27-year-old victim, who wasn’t identified, was stabbed with a knife by 40-year-old Amelia Flores shortly after 7 p.m. near Mission and 16th streets, police said.

Flores fled on foot after the stabbing but was later located and arrested. The Richmond woman was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
