Next week, professionals who keep Richmond safe will be honored at the City of Richmond’s annual Public Safety Awards Dinner.

The event, presented by the Kiwanis Club of Richmond and Chevron Richmond, will honor Doug Hembree as Police Officer of the Year, Eric Munson as Firefighter of the Year, and Bea Roberson and Paul Werner as CAPER Volunteers of the Year.

Richmond Police Department Teamwork awards will be presented to Lt. Lory Curran, Sgt. Tim Simmons, Officer Stephen Andretich, Officer Leah Joseph and Administrative Aide Leticia Lopez.

They will be honored at an awards dinner Friday at the Richmond Police Activities League headquarters at 2200 Macdonald Avenue. The dinner is sponsored by Mechanics Bank.

Purchase tickets for the dinner by Monday by visiting Proceeds benefit Richmond PAL, Richmond Fire Department Youth Academy, KIWINS and Richmond Community Programs.
