Former major leaguer Bip Roberts (pictured below) and Congressman Mark DeSaulnier are among the guest speakers listed for the community rebuild of the John F. Kennedy ball field on Saturday.

Community members are encouraged to volunteer their time to help rehabilitate the field at Cutting Boulevard and South 41st Street. Starting at 7:30 a.m., volunteers will assist on fencing and dugout improvements, field grading and refurbishment, backstop refurbishment, base installation, spectator access and improvements, painting, landscaping, and other park enhancements.

biproberts.5-14The non-profit TLC for Kids Sports partnered with Alta Vista Solutions and the City of Richmond on the rebuild. General Contractor O.C. Jones & Sons, Inc., which runs TLC for Kids, will lead the construction.
