San Pablo police commander arrested on suspicion of DUI in Lake County

A San Pablo police commander has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest Sunday on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving in an oft-duty incident in Lake County, authorities said.

The Contra Costa Times broke the news Tuesday about the arrest of David Marvin Krastof, 47, of Vallejo, at 11:48 p.m. Sunday. Krastof was booked on suspicion of driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office online police log.

On the San Pablo Police Department website, Krastof is identified as a commander and veteran of the department since 1989 and past president of the San Pablo Police Employees’ Association.

He has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, said police Chief Lisa Rosales in a statement, according to Bay City News. Krastof is scheduled to appear in court July 7.

“We are committed to holding San Pablo Police Department employees accountable for their actions, and will conduct a thorough personnel investigation,” Rosales said.
