Earth Day is officially Wednesday, April 22, with events through the week. From creek and shoreline cleanups, to neighborhood block parties, West County is home to a variety of Earth Day festivities this year.

When: Saturday, April 18

  • El Cerrito – Citywide Work Parties at Baxter Creek, Hillside Nature Area, Ohlone Greenway and more; 9 am to 1:30 pm – Pre-register online at www.el-cerrito.org (search Earth Day) or   on Saturday morning at the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, El Cerrito.   • El Sobrante – SPAWNERS Creek Cleanup, Family Fun, “Water Bug Team” event 9 am to 12:30 pm – Meet behind the El Sobrante Library, 4191 Appian Way.
