Iamsu! getting rave reviews for performances on national 'Eyes on Me' tour
Iamsu! posted this picture of his performance Monday in Bend, Ore.

We’ve told you before how Iamsu! has been forwarding the Bay Area’s reputation as one of the nation’s hotbeds for original hip hop.

The folks in Northwest cities agree.

On Wednesday, Iamsu! performed in Seattle on his six-week-long “Eyes on Me” tour, following the February release of the “Eyes on Me” mixtape.

The performance made a list of highly-anticipated music events in The Seattle Times, which described Iamsu! as “one of the brightest stars in Bay Area hip hop” whose “loose, bouncy tracks feel like a modern update on the work of legends like E-40 and Too $hort.”

On Monday, Iamsu! killed it at a show in Bend, Ore. His performance received a rave review in the local newspaper.

“His vocals were clear, and while the beats and bass thumped, they didn’t overwhelm the melodic elements of his songs,” the reviewer said, later adding, “The guy’s got ‘it,’ no doubt.”

This is nothing that folks in Richmond don’t already know, but further proof that Iamsu! is keeping the Bay Area hip-hop scene relevant.
