Richmond police are asking for the public’s help in locating the PT Cruiser that 19-year-old Daniel Tolosa allegedly ran from  Saturday night while fleeing police — and right before he was shot during a gunfire exchange with a pursuing cop, according to Bay City News.

The vehicle was described as a black four-door PT Cruiser with yellow and green paper plates from the Hilltop Chrysler dealership in Richmond. Anyone with information on its whereabouts are asked to call Richmond police at (510) 620-6860.

A police sergeant attempted to stop the PT Cruiser about 7 p.m. at 25th Street and Roosevelt Avenue. A pursuit led to the 500 block of 38th Street, where Tolosa, a passenger in the car, allegedly fled from the vehicle on foot while clutching a firearm.

The officer gave chase and near the rear of the residence gunfire was exchanged, but no one was hit. Tolosa attempted to flee again, leading to a second exchange of gunfire. This time, Tolosa was struck but not the officer.

Tolosa is charged with attempted murder, gang enhancements and intentionally discharging a firearm, according to Bay City News, and is being held in the Martinez Detention Facility on a $1.2 million bail.
