The Salesian girls basketball team had little time to celebrate their North Coast Section Division IV title, which they earned following a decisive 56-40 win Saturday over rival Saint Mary’s-Berkeley at Albany High School.

On Friday night (March 13), the Pride (28-3) returns to Albany High in order to play St. Ignatius-San Francisco (21-6) in the first round of the highest division — the open division — of the 2015 CIF State Girls Basketball Championships.

Tip off is at 7 p.m.

Salesian enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed, while St. Ignatius is the No. 6 seed. The No. 1 seed is St. Mary’s-Stockton and the No. 2 is Miramonte.
