Richmond police are busy investigating two recent homicides, including the shooting of a 62-year-old man during a home invasion Monday night and the possible strangling of a homeless woman found on Friday morning.

The 62-year-old man, whose name was not immediately released, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in a home in the 6200 block of Sutter Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Monday, Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said Tuesday.

Police believe multiple suspects were involved in the home invasion and shooting, but no arrests have been made, Abetkov said.

The Friday morning homicide claimed the life of Kelly Fiore, 52, who police say was homeless.

Fiore’s body was found in a parking lot next near the corner of 23rd Street and Preble Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, Abetkov said. Investigators are still trying to determine her cause of death but believe she was strangled. On Tuesday, a makeshift memorial could be seen at the site where Fiore was found.

Police have not identified any suspects in the case.

Anyone with information about either homicide has been asked to call Richmond police at (510) 233-1214.
