The streets of Richmond are a little safer this week after the Richmond Police Department seized a loaded gun with a 30-round magazine, authorities said.

On Monday night, Richmond police were attempting to contact a suspicious person at 36th St and Esmond Ave near San Pablo Ave. The person fled on foot and jumped over a fence.

Officers located the loaded gun in shrubbery near the fence. Police have not yet apprehended the suspect.
