Richmond police have released a sketch of a person of interest in connection with a home invasion Monday in the North & East neighborhood.

The incident occurred at a home in the 600 block of 27th Street about 6:35 a.m., police said, and the man from the sketch was seen near the crime scene about five minutes after the suspect fled.

“This person’s involvement is undetermined, however they closely resemble the limited suspect description,” police stated in a Facebook post.

The suspect allegedly entered the home with a gun. A 15-year-old girl and her father were among those in the home and the father chased the suspect out, Lt. Andre Hill said. No injuries occurred.

It was the second home invasion robbery in North & East in just five days. On Feb. 4, an armed burglar slipped through a window of a home in the 2600 block of Clinton Avenue, where he was confronted by a resident before he pulled out a weapon and stole items, police said. The suspect got away and an arrest hasn’t been announced.

Police are encouraging anyone with information on either incident to contact ltirona@richmondpd.net, or contact RPD investigations at (510) 233-1214.

“We recently were able to arrest a robbery suspect in another part of town because a quick thinking resident called in a license plate number,” police said. “Please observe and report the information to police.”

  1. Father, Mother, four daughters, Grandfather were in the house. Father did not chase out armed man. The man was scared away when 15 year old daughter screamed. Sorry Sr.Hill you are extremely incorrect.
