An 18-year-old man was carted off to El Cerrito Police Station by his family on Tuesday after police publicly disseminated surveillance images of him in front of a home that had been burglarized, police said.

Video surveillance captured Zachory Beeche of San Pablo park his white BMW 328i and enter the home in the 400 block of Everett Street about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said.  Beeche allegedly broke in through a window and stole more than $6,000 in electronics.

Later on Tuesday, police released photos of the suspect and vehicle in the hope that the public could help identify them.  Beeche was taken into custody after his family brought him to the police station.

He was booked on suspicion of residential burglary, police said.

El Cerrito detectives are working on recovering the victim’s property.
