San Pablo police officers opened fire on an armed robbery suspect at a motel Wednesday after the man allegedly pointed a gun at the cops, but no one was injured, police told Bay City News.
The suspect, who hasn’t been identified, was wanted in connection with several armed robberies in multiple jurisdictions, police told the news wire. About 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, a high-risk search warrant was served at the San Pablo Motel at 14771 San Pablo Ave. at the request of police in Berkeley, who believe the suspect recently committed an armed robbery in their city.
During the encounter, the man allegedly pointed a gun at police, prompting two officers to open fire.
The man is being held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, according to Bay City News.
Meanwhile, the officers have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation from the district attorney’s office, per protocol.
