Covered California enrollment fair set for Feb. 14 at DeJean Middle School

Building & Construction Trades Career Fair geared toward high school students

Those needing health insurance are encouraged to attend the Covered California Enrollment Fair on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Lovonya DeJean Middle School in Richmond.

The free community fair will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the school at 3400 Macdonald Ave.

“You may be one of thousands of Californians who qualify for federally funded subsidies to ensure coverage is affordable,” Assemblymember Tony Thurmond said in a statement.

Thurmond as well as West Contra Costa Unified School District Superintendent Bruce Harter will be there to help in the effort to connect community members to enrollment counselors.  Assistance will be provided in both English and Spanish.

Those planning to attend should bring proof of current income; a California driver’s license of the person applying for the family; a U.S. passport, a legal resident card or certificate of citizenship or naturalization documentation; birth dates; social security numbers; and home ZIP code.

RSVP for the event here. Thurmond also encouraged community members to visit his website or call his office at (510) 286-1400 to RSVP and learn about what documents they need to bring to enroll.
