Multiple shots were fired at an AC Transit bus in North Richmond Saturday night, but no one was injured, authorities said.

Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies responded to Fourth Street and Market Avenue about 6 p.m. regarding the shooting, according to Bay City News.

Sgt. Brian Sliger told the newswire he didn’t know how many people were on the bus at the time of the shooting, as some passengers exited the bus before deputies arrived. Only three or four people remained at the scene, Sliger said.

“At this point we’re still trying to generate information as far as suspects,” Sliger said. “It was kind of random, almost. But we’ll see. I’m sure there is some evidence as to why they shot at this bus.”

No suspect information was available, he said.
