A speeding motorcyclist who apparently watches too many Hollywood films attempted to pull into a Richmond carport in order to hide from cops, but was found and booked for possession of a firearm and methamphetamine, police said.

The incident occurred Sunday about 11:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Grant Avenue, where the 56-year-old Richmond man was seen driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed, police spokesperson Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

“The suspect attempted to avoid being stopped by pulling into a carport in the block,” Abetkov said, but in short time the officer found him.

The suspect advised the arresting officer that he possessed a concealed firearm. He was taken into custody and also found in possession of a “usable amount” of meth, a syringe and a loaded revolver, Abetkov said.

He was then booked into jail.
