A woman was arrested in Richmond early Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence while her 7-year-old child was in the vehicle, police said.

The incident occurred 12:51 a.m. when a traffic stop was conducted on Interstate 80 near San Pablo Avenue when a vehicle was seen swerving on the roadway, Richmond police spokesperson Nicole Abetkov said.

The 25-year-old woman was booked for DUI and child endangerment. Her child was released to a family member, Abetkov said.
