The Richmond Steelers Cadets went 11-1 this season, clinching the Norcal championship just this past Saturday and earning a trip to nationals in Florida.

Only problem? The team can’t afford the $20,000 cost to send the kids to the East Coast.

Then again, this is the team with no quit. In an attempt to cover the cost, Coach Will Byrant has started a campaign.

“My team the  Richmond Steelers Cadets won a the Norcal Championship Saturday …and they finished 11-1 in a very tough AYF Norcal Division 1 SuperConference,” Bryant wrote on the online fundraising site. “They deserve to go to Nationals in Florida, but the cost is too expensive for our organization to cover…I’m asking for help to get this money together for our Babies to go participate!!!”

The coach added, “Coming from Richmond these kids don’t get very many opportunities to leave the city let alone the state. So to be able to take them outside there element and let them experience something great would mean so much to them. This is an experience that they will have to treasure for the rest of their lives. So again I’m asking on behalf of my coaching staff, my parents, and my babies, PLEASE HELP! Let’s support something positive and get these kids to Florida.”
