A 16-year-old boy was killed in North Richmond Friday night and a man in Richmond suffered the same fate less than an hour later in shootings that are not believed to be related, authorities said.
About 10 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at 6th and Pennsylvania Avenue and discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a parked car near the intersection, police spokesperson Nicole Abetkov said.
The driver, who hasn’t been identified, was shot dead, while a woman with him suffered minor injuries, Abetkov said.
About 9:20 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was found deceased in front of a home in the 300 block of Market Street in North Richmond following reports of a shooting.
No arrests have been made in either shooting, and no suspect information was immediately available. The victims have not yet been identified.
The violence follows separate shootings Tuesday that injured four teens.
“There’s nothing to show right now that [any of the shootings] are all connected,” Abetkov said, adding police are also unsure whether any of the violence was gang related.
