Volunteers planning to help rebuild the Parchester Village park and playground in one day should benefit from a newly released event schedule.

The rebuilding effort will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the park and playground at 900 Williams Drive. All volunteers are welcome no matter what skills they can offer. There will be something to do for everyone, organizers said.

The agenda:
8:15 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Kick off ceremony and volunteer deployment
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Best viewing of playground construction
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Final construction phase and adjustments
2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Ribbon cutting and ‪#‎JrGiants‬ first pitch ceremony to dedicate new Ball Park.

The rebuilding effort comes after months of planning. The park was selected by Berkeley-based children’s shoe company Livie & Luca and the City of Richmond to undergo a renovation similar to last year’s remodel of Belding-Garcia Park, which was transformed in one day with the help of more than 300 community volunteers.

This video details the inspiring Belding-Garcia Park rebuilding effort that is expected to be recreated in Parchester Village.
