Soroptimist International of Richmond, the organization providing services and scholarships to bolster women and girls in West County, is known for holding unique fundraising events.

The next event promises not to disappoint in the unique category: On Nov. 1, Richmond Soroptimist is holding a tea party for both adults and children that will provide a teddy bear to each registered child.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best tea party attire and will have tea, sandwiches, a few craft programs and a silent auction geared partly to children and partly to adults.

The cost is $30 per adult and $15 for children under 12. Children must be at least 6 years old to attend.

Proceeds will fund nonprofit organizations in West County.

Richmond Soroptimist’s largest annual event is the popular Culinary Caper, a premier chef show and wine tasting event featuring some of the Bay Area’s best eateries, wineries and breweries. The Culinary Caper will be held on April 28 next year.
