A Richmond police sergeant found three girls ages 3, 4, and 5 walking down 55th Street at 1 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

The girls told the police sergeant they were on a mission to buy candy.

The girls apparently did not inform their sleeping parents that they were leaving the home in the 5400 block of School Street to embark on a candy expedition, police spokesperson Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

The police sergeant found the girls near S 55th Street and Potrero Avenue, just a couple blocks from their home, Abetkov said.  They were returned home.

“Yep they apparently wanted to go buy candy from a nearby store,” Abetkov said. “Luckily they got found pretty quickly.”
