Residents are encouraged to attend an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night regarding a proposed pedestrian overpass serving Riverside Elementary School in San Pablo.

The project is part of the $118.8 million I-80 San Pablo Dam Road Interchange Reconstruction project. It would replace the existing pedestrian overcrossing and extend the new overpass across Amador Street so kids don’t have to cross the busy roadway to get safely to school. It would also help ease traffic along Amador Street in this area.

The school board is set to take final action to grant an easement for the project on Wednesday, but residents hope strong attendance at tonight’s meeting will compel the West Contra Costa Unified School District to approve the project.
