In advance of the Bay Area premier of “The Addams Family” at Contra Costa Civic Theatre on Friday, a great preview video was released on YouTube.
Set to the hit song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, the video shows just how much fun the cast has had bringing the popular new musical to life.
The show runs through Oct 19 and opens CCCT’s 55th season. Single tickets are $29 in advance or $35 at the door; youth tickets for ages 16 and under are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door.
The Adams Family is based on the delightfully macabre drawings by cartoonist Charles Addams that appeared in The New Yorker, among other publications.
From the official website:
“The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.”
Tickets are available online at www.ccct.org or by phone at (510) 524.9132.
