Attempted murder suspect Demetriaus Rashawn Robinson, 18.

A police robot sent into a Vallejo home last week helped capture the suspect wanted in connection with a shooting at the Crescent Park apartment complex in Richmond, the Contra Costa Times reported.

Demetriaus Robinson, 18, allegedly knocked on an apartment door July 31 at about 10:55 a.m., then opened fire as soon as it opened. Two victims including a teenage juvenile were injured.

Robinson was identified as the shooter after his name was passed along to police during the investigation.

Authorities caught up to him on Friday in the 100 block of Michigan Street in Vallejo, where a home was surrounded by a SWAT team, the Times reported. The police robot sent into the home found Robinson hiding behind a couch. He was arrested safely, the newspaper said, adding that Robinson had been alone in his friend’s home.

Robinson had a $2 million warrant in connection with the shooting.
