For a sixth consecutive year, Richmond-based Nutiva has made Inc. Magazine’s list of the nation’s 5,000 fastest growing privately-held companies.
The company on West Cutting Boulevard, which sells natural food products made with hemp and coconut, ranked 937 on the list, its highest ranking yet.
That’s not hard to fathom when you consider that last year the company’s earnings of $69.9 million was $57.9 million higher than in 2010, a growth of 482-precent, according to Inc.
The company was founded in 1999 and has 86 employees, with 74 of those jobs added during the last three years. In 2012, it held a job fair at its local headquarters that garnered media attention.
Nutiva has also been active in the Richmond community. CEO and Founder John Roulac started a basketball camp for youths promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. The company was also one of the sponsors of the free Music on the Main summer concert series, an event held as part of a downtown revitalization effort.
