Richmond police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man in two photos, as he is accused of trying to abduct a 15-year-old girl last month while she was walking home from Kennedy High School.
The incident occurred near the intersection of S. 39th Street and Florida Avenue about 3:50 p.m. on Aug. 22, Richmond police Lt. Andre Hill said.
The man approached the girl, grabbed her arm and tried to pull her into his parked car, Hill said, but the girl managed to break free and run away.
The victim saw her attacker three days later as she was with her family in the 700 block of 23rd Street, Hill said. Her family took photos of him before he ran from the area.
Although the victim’s father ran after the suspect, the man was able to flee over fences.
The man is about 5- feet-10 with a thin build, police said. The vehicle involved in the alleged abduction was an older model, four-door, light blue or gray Mercedes-Benz, police said.
