Police are searching for an 18-year-old man in connection with a shooting at a Crescent Park apartment last week that injured two people, including a juvenile.

The suspect was identified by police Tuesday as Dematriaus Rashawn Robinson and described as standing 5-11, weighing 160 pounds and having brown eyes. The Richmond Police Department also released Robinson’s mugshot, hoping community members who see him will immediately contact police.

Robinson has a $2 million warrant in connection with the shooting, which occurred about 10:55 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex in the 4900 block of Bayview Ave., police spokesperson Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

Robinson knocked on the apartment door and then began shooting as soon as it was opened, police said. Three to four shots were fired, striking the teenage juvenile in his abdomen and hip and a man in his 20s in his pelvis. The victims are recovering from their injuries, Abektov said.

Robinson was reportedly identified as the shooter after his name was passed along to police during the shooting investigation.

Anyone with information about the case or about Robinson’s whereabouts is encouraged to call Det. Jason Wentz (510) 621-1259 or the anonymous tip line at (510) 232-TIPS (8477).
