An intoxicated 26-year-old woman attempted to stab her father in Parchester Village Sunday night after he refused to let her leave with her 6-year-old daughter, according to Richmond police.

At about 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the 3900 block of Jenkins Way, Richmond police spokesperson Nicole Abetkov said.

After learning about the attempted stabbing, officers tried to take the woman into custody, but she violently resisted, Abektov said.

“She had to be restrained and placed in the WRAP in order to prevent her from kicking out the windows in the patrol vehicle and injuring herself,” Abetkov said.

No one was injured.

The woman was transported to county jail, where she was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing police.

policeblotter.8-4Forgetful theft suspect:

Adam Davis, 43, of Richmond, was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle Friday morning after failing to remember the name of the person who he claims lent him the vehicle, according to police.

Davis was pulled over for excessive speed near Hilltop Drive and Vista Del Mar about 8:40 a.m., Abetkov said.

Officers checked the vehicle’s registration and learned it had been stolen July 7 in Vallejo. The vehicle’s ignition had been punched in and Davis’ key ring included keys that had been modified for the purpose of car theft, Abetkov said.

Davis “claimed someone let him borrow the vehicle, but couldn’t remember his name,” Abetkov added.

Abetkov said RPD has its eyes on Richmond Parkway, where drivers eclipse the speed limit “by more than 20 miles per hour.”

“We do enforcement there all the time,” she said.

Apparently Davis wasn’t aware.
