Washington Post says Richmond rappers helped birth ‘syrupy, trunk-rattling tunes’

The accolades continue streaming in for Richmond’s HBK Gang, which received praise in a recent Washington Post article.

The newspaper reviewed Wiz Khalifa’s Under the Influence of Music tour and had nothing but nice things to say about the two HBK Gang members in the lineup, Sage the Gemini and Iamsu. Here’s the mention:

washingtonpost1.8-18washingtonpost2.8-18Sage the Gemini has two platinum singles with “Gas Pedal” featuring Iamsu and “Red Nose” and has appeared on Letterman, Arsenio Hall and Jimmy Kimmel. He is currently working on his sophomore album, according to his publicist.

Iamsu recently released his debut album Sincerely Yours, which was named one of the best releases of the year by ComplexYou have probably heard the album’s first single, “Only that Real,” bumping on the radio.
