Poll workers are being sought for the Nov. 4 elections in Contra Costa County, especially those who are bilingual, according to the county’s Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters.

To be a poll worker, you must be a registered California voter or a non-voter who is a permanent U.S. resident. High school students who are at least 16 years old on Election Day are encouraged to apply, but they must have at least a 2.5 GPA, county officials said.

No prior experience is necessary and training is provided for poll workers, who will receive a stipend of $125 for attending a two-hour training and working on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. County and State employees are also encouraged to apply.
