Richmond is the backdrop for a compelling new poetry video that tackles the subject of Type 2 diabetes in low-income communities.

The gorgeously filmed and edited video features “Chocolate Smile,” a poem from Marje Kilpatrick.

The clip’s creation was part of The Bigger Picture, a collaboration between Youth Speaks and the University of California, San Francisco Center for Vulnerable Populations. The Bigger Picture attempts to combat the rising epidemic of Type 2 Diabetes through the power of youth voices.
