The man who was struck and killed by a BART train at Richmond station Friday has been identified as Kevin West, 45, of Oakland, according to Bay City News.

The fatal collision occurred about 4:30 p.m. and caused temporary closures of the Richmond and El Cerrito del Norte stations, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said.

Witnesses reportedly saw West jump onto the trackway before he was hit, Trost said.
