UPDATE 4:30 P.M.: A 37-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death. She was reportedly the victim’s girlfriend, and police say the killing may have occurred as the result of an alcohol-fueled couple’s dispute. The identities of the couple have not been released.

A 36-year-old man was found in his home early Tuesday with an apparent puncture wound to his abdomen.

Authorities responded to the home in the 500 block of Tewksbury Avenue about 4:30 a.m., police spokesperson Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said. Responding fire officials found the victim, who has yet to be identified, unresponsive. After the man was pronounced dead, it was discovered that he had suffered a puncture wound and thus a homicide investigation was launched, Abetkov said.

An unidentified female who shared the home with the victim and had reportedly been with him all evening is being questioned by police investigators regarding his death, Abetkov said. The female was the person who initially called 911.

Abetkov said investigators are not yet revealing the female’s relationship with the man. The man’s identity will not be released until next of kin is notified, the sergeant added.

Check back for updates. Below is the approximate location of the home where authorities found the victim.
