Three men who barricaded themselves inside a 17th Street home for several hours after leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle were arrested Wednesday without injury, Richmond police said.

The incident unfolded about 11:10 a.m., when detectives saw the men riding in a stolen Honda at Marina Way South and Ohio Avenue, police spokesperson Nicole Abetkov said. The driver of the car failed to yield for a traffic stop and drove in the wrong direction on westbound Interstate Highway 580. About an hour later, Abetkov said,  police found the Honda abandoned in the 100 block of South 17th Street. Officers surrounded a nearby home where the suspects were discovered to be located.

The suspects, three men ages 30, 19 and 18, surrendered at about 7:20 p.m., Abetkov said.

RPD lauded its officers on its Facebook page for resolving the situation without injury.
