A  panhandler sexually assaulted a woman who gave him money on Cutting Boulevard in Richmond last week, according to the Richmond Police Department.

The suspect, identified as Issac Ybarra, 30, asked the woman for money as she was walking near Cutting and Carlson Boulevard about 6:10 a.m. Thursday, police spokesperson Sgt. Nicole Abektov said.

After receiving money, Ybarra followed the woman, pushed her to the pavement and sexually assaulted her, Abetkov said.

A business owner heard screams and called police. In short time, police found Ybarra hiding under a car in the 400 block of 34th Street.

He was arrested and booked on suspicion of sexual assault, making terrorist threats and resisting arrest, Abetkov said.
