Reminder! Nicholl Park festival honoring Terrance Kelly set for Saturday

The first annual TK DAY event, which was created in honor of slain 18-year-old football star Terrance Kelly, will occur Saturday at Nicholl Park.

The first annual TK DAY event, which was created in honor of Terrance Kelly, the 18-year-old De La Salle football star from Richmond who was shot and killed a decade ago, will occur Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Terrance Kelly Youth Foundation.

Seems like it’s going to be a blast. See the flyer below for more information about the festival.

Kelly was born April 23, 1986 in Oakland and was raised in Richmond, where he attended St. Cornelius and St. David’s Elementary School.  He graduated in June 2004 from De La Salle, where he never lost a football game and accepted a scholarship to the University of Oregon. Although he was not involved in drugs or gangs, according to his family, he was shot and killed in Richmond just two days before departing to school.

Following his death, Kelly’s father Landrin Kelly created the Terrance Kelly Youth Foundation (T.K.Y.F.), which provides community outreach for youths from ages 5 through 17 through a variety of programs. Visit the foundation’s website for more information, or simply attend TK Day!
