Richmond churches are seeking assistance from local businesses in hosting the second Richmond Faith and Community Health Fair on Aug. 2 in Nicholl Park.

The free event, which is co-sponsored by the Richmond Recreation and Parks Commission, brings faith organizations together in one location to promote both spiritual and physical health in the community. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park on Macdonald Avenue and 33rd Street. It will include info booths, health screenings, entertainment, food, games and prizes, organizer said.

Faith leaders are calling on local merchants to support the fair by either securing a booth and/or donating funds, prizes, food, gift cards and certificates, equipment, supplies or services.

“We ask that you complete and return the Attendance Response Form as soon as possible,” organizers said, adding the application deadline is July 11.

Last year, seven local churches collaborated on the first health fair, which was held at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
