A Richmond family is elated to report that their beloved Doberman Pinscher, named Mary Jane, was returned to them Wednesday night.

The 2-year-old pooch, who requires medication for kidney problems, went missing Sunday night and had been last seen in the area of Harbour Way and Macdonald Avenue. Mary Jane has a Microchip ID but no collar.

Someone who found the pooch eventually saw a flyer the family had posted and returned the dog. The family reported the good news on the Richmond Standard Facebook page.

“Our pup was returned tonight!” the post stated. “Thank you for spreading the word! Richmond is a great community!”
