The West Contra Costa Unified School District is now hiring for the position of Director of Community Engagement.

The person hired for this role will help the district embark upon a strategic planning process that was started thanks to a Chevron Richmond grant in 2012. The annual salary ranges between $101,000 and $120,000 depending on experience. The deadline to apply is July 9.

The primary functions of the role are to create, promote and support equitable opportunities for learning and success that ensures all students are college and career-ready; to facilitate the development of a Full Service Community School district through the provision of leadership in planning, developing, monitoring and evaluation school, business and community partnerships; to ensure the effective coordination of services that fully or partially originate with community partners; to build strong partnerships with West County philanthropic organizations, including identifying funding opportunities that match the district’s strategic plan, and more.

Below is the job posting. Click here to apply.

  1. Why is the primary requirement for this job an accounting degree? The job description doesn’t seem to have much to do with Community Engagement.
