A proposal to install a new Jack in the Box restaurant at the Richmond Shopping Center was unanimously approved Wednesday by the city’s Design Review Board.

The 2,662 square-foot fast food eatery would be located in a space formerly occupied by the Payless ShoeSource in the shopping center at 1100 Macdonald Ave., said Kieron Slaughter, associate planner with the city.

If no one appeals the proposal, the applicant looking to build the restaurant next needs to seek a permit from the Building Division, Slaughter said.
