Doctors Medical Center to stay open longer with $6 million in bridge financing from county

West Contra Costa Healthcare District

Doctors Medical Center will remain open for at least a few more months than expected following an infusion of $6 million in bridge financing from Contra Costa County.

Details on the funding are included in this Contra Costa Times article.

The hospital was scheduled to be closed in late July after a parcel tax measure to address the hospital’s $18 million annual deficit failed last month.

Current proposals are to reduce beds and services throughout the hospital or to close everything but the facility’s 25-bed emergency room.
