Driver who possessed pain pills not very soothing, Richmond police say

23rd Street fight turns fatal

A man accused of possessing more than 150 prescription pain pills in Richmond last weekend was a real pain to take into custody, police said.

Glinn Pickett, 47, was booked into county jail after police say he resisted arrest about 11:30 p.m. Sunday during a traffic stop near West Macdonald Avenue and Richmond Parkway.

An officer who pulled Pickett over saw marijuana and prescription bottles in plainview in Pickett’s car, police spokesperson Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

“The suspect was asked to exit the vehicle, at which time he refused and struggled with the officers until they were able to gain control of him and remove him from the vehicle,” Abetkov said. “Located inside the vehicle were approximately  150 Hydrocodone prescription pills that were not prescribed to the suspect.

No injuries were reported.
