Grand jury offers harsh critique on Richmond Housing Authority
Hacienda housing complex

The Center for Investigative Reporting has not moved on from its reporting about troubling conditions at the Hacienda public housing complex in Richmond, particularly since the building that was deemed uninhabitable by the city’s housing authority director remains inhabited.

And so CIR began counting the days since Housing Authority director Tim Jones stated the building with than 100 residents is uninhabitable.Online tool from Center for Investigative Reporting allows you to see issues inside Hacienda unitsBut the counter isn’t the most interesting online tool CIR is using to tell this ongoing story. The investigative journalism site has also produced an interactive tool that lets users click on each unit of the building to see what problems were found. Click here to use the technology.

We were also waiting to see if the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development would agree to fund the relocation. We’ll keep you informed about future developments.
