The University of Hawai’i women’s basketball program announced Monday that Salesian graduate Justice Toailoa has joined the team as a walk on.
Toailoa is one of several new players joining the Rainbow Wahine, head basketball coach Laura Beeman said.
Beeman praised Toaila for her defensive skills. The incoming freshman reportedly earned four varsity letters in basketball and one in volleyball at Salesian, which last season earned its first trip to the championship game of California’s highest division.
Toaila, a 5-9 forward from Hayward, averaged eight points, 10 rebounds and three assists per game in her senior season.
“Justice is a young lady that will bring great competition and energy to the floor.” Beeman said. “Whether it be in practice or in a game, she has the potential to be a defensive impact player for our squad. She will play inside majority of the time as an undersized post player.”
