Richmond sees sixth homicide following shooting at 12th and Virginia

Richmond police to hold another DUI checkpoint at Cutting/41st on Friday night

Two men were shot, one fatally, following a dispute in Richmond Sunday night, police told the West County Times.

Arout 5:45 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Virginia Avenue and South 12th Street, where officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, Lt. Andre Hill said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man went to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Richmond with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victims have not been identified and no arrests have been made.

The shooting may have reportedly been connected to an argument between the shooter and the two victims and could be linked to a neighborhood dispute, Hill told the Times.

The homicide was the city’s sixth this year.

On Saturday afternoon, a San Francisco man was fatally shot as he drove down Interstate Highway 580, temporarily shutting down all eastbound lanes for the investigation. No arrests have been reported in connection with the highway shooting.
