The grand opening for Point Molate Beach Park is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The park has been open since October after being closed for more than a decade due to budget constraints. In March of last year City Council voted to spend up to $115,000 to rehabilitate and maintain the beach.

Saturday’s grand opening will include an “idea tent” where the public can offer suggestions for future park designs and programming. The official ribbon-cutting will take place at 11 a.m.
