Rec League: Jose Tirado’s hat trick helps soccer team snag title

WCCUSD athletics schedule for this week

Kennedy High junior Jose Tirado scored three goals to lead Los Invensibles to a 6-1 victory over Halcones in City of Richmond Adult 7 on 7 Outdoor Soccer League Division I championship game on Friday.

Tirado, a serious scoring threat, is also expected to be a key player on the Kennedy Eagles’ varsity team next year. All starters for the young high school team are expected to return.

“The team hopes Jose is able to find ways to uphold his high school obligations while continuing to play for Los Invensibles,” a league official said.

Also on Friday, Fiorentina defeated Leones Negro 2-1 to capture the Division II championship.
