Richmond firefighters took time between service calls last week to help deliver more than 4,800 books to local elementary schools.

Book lovers in Richmond now have a chance to meet up with like-minded people and get introduced to new titles as part of a free event being held by the Richmond Public Library Foundation.

The very first Book Lover’s Forum will be held  May 1 at 6 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott at 3150 Garrity Way.

Attendees will discover and discuss 18 new book titles, all of which will be available for purchase through Book Passage. Light refreshments will be offered, and attendees are encouraged to bring along a group of their friends, book club, church group etc.

The Richmond Public Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization that contributes advocacy, resources, and financial support to Richmond’s public library to further its goal to provide quality library services and programs.
